Tethered

a 10 week, self-paced, writing course to cultivate a deep & enduring bond

Love doesn’t end with loss.

But in the absence of your person, it can feel like your connection is slipping away.

What if, instead of feeling further from them, you could learn to recognize their presence in new ways?

What if instead of wondering who you are without them, you could explore who you are because of them?

What if their love could guide you forward as you rebuild life after loss?

That’s exactly what Tethered invites you into.

What is Tethered?

It’s a self-paced online course that includes both:

Lessons from my Continuing Bonds Workshop & a 10-week guided writing experience to help you explore three meaningful pathways of connection with your loved one:

  • Signs & Spirituality – Noticing the ways they continue to show up.

  • The Imprint Within – Recognizing how they live on through you.

  • Turning to Them in Rebuilding – Using their love as inspiration to move forward.

Through profound writing prompts, guided reflections, and 3 video lessons from my workshop on Continuing Bonds, you’ll learn how to:

✔ Recognize and interpret the signs they may be sending you.
✔ See the ways they still influence your perspective, choices, and daily life.
✔ Carry their wisdom forward as you step into the next chapter of your life.

Let’s weave the threads of a meaningful bond as you carry your life forward WITH them.

Over the last 5 years, I have supported hundreds of grieving people.

I have sat with people after they had lost spouses, friends, siblings, parents & children. Their stories inform my work, my writing & the way I now invite people to think about continuing bonds. Some come to loss with a strong set of religious or spiritual beliefs while others do not.

Through helping clients reflect on different ways to cultivate a new relationship with their deceased loved one, I have identified three pathways of connection that speak to a wide range of grieving styles:

  • Signs & spirituality

  • The imprint they leave within us

  • Turning to them for support in the rebuilding

Spend 10 weeks learning about & journalling through these 3 pathways to deepen your ongoing bond with your loved one.

What you receive when you join:

  • 3 video lessons, from my workshop on Continuing Bonds, guiding you to reflect deeply on each pathway of connection

  • 10 weeks of journalling prompts helping you explore the meaning & legacy of your person’s life & inviting you to cultivate an ongoing connection to them in new ways

  • Unlimited access to the online course allowing you to revisit the content over time as your grief ebbs & flows

  • All you have to do is get a brand new journal or open a new document on your computer and let me guide you

Even when someone is no longer physically present, the love remains. That love will continue to impact and shape you over your lifetime. A continuing bond refers to that ongoing connection that remains when the physical body does not. That bond is a relationship that you can continue to cultivate, reflect on & carry forward. There’s a beautiful quote by Morrie Schwartz that states: “Death ends a life, not a relationship.”

The way we internalize our person is no longer seen, in bereavement research, as “clinging to the past” or being “stuck” in grief. Bereavement theory now recognizes how normal, healthy and comforting it is when grievers carry forward the love, wisdom, and memories that continue to guide and impact their lives.

About me.

Hi! I’m Marie, a certified Grief Coach and Death Doula who walks the path of healing with those who have suffered a profound loss. I specialize in creating brave spaces for humans to be seen, heard and witnessed in the fullness of their experience of loss. Spaces where they get to deepen their relationship to themselves in a way that promotes deep & lasting healing.

My approach is based on the assumption that you are the expert of your own grief and my work focuses on guiding you back home to yourself so that you can find meaning in your life in the “after”. Having lost my partner to cancer, my guidance and coaching comes from both education and personal experience which allows me to deeply relate to my client’s experience of grief and loss. I am the founder of Empowered Through Grief, a coaching practice and community that provides a brave space for healing and post-traumatic growth for humans grieving all types of losses.

My life’s work is to help normalize grief by engaging in difficult conversations surrounding death and dying. I believe that by getting acquainted with death, we learn so much about life itself.

In my work, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of folks through 1:1 coaching and group experiences. My work is trauma informed and respectful of your religious & spiritual beliefs.
